Jayne, it's so nice to see that your story has a happy ending. So often, the perception of others shapes our lives for better or worse. My father wanted me to be a jet pilot. Or a stewardess (as they said in those days). Just so long as it was in the airline industry (he worked for Pan Am). My highest scores in high school aptitude tests were in mechanical aptitude, where I scored in the 99+ percentile. Why? Because as the oldest child, I was the one who handed my dad the right tools. So now I fly around the country helping lawyers and law firms build programs and "fix" the things that aren't working just quite right. And I firmly subscribe to a couple of adages: "It's never too late to have a happy childhood," and "It's never too late to be who you could have been." I'm so glad that you are busy being what you could have been, Jayne. Keep on breaking free of any limiting perceptions of others!
